New Features in Škola s nadhledem

For the Fraus publishing house, we built the web portal Škola s nadhledem www.skolasnadhledem.cz to provide online support for printed textbooks. Its content is available free of charge to all users, whether or not they use Fraus textbooks. It offers interactive exercises as well as multimedia content. The project was launched as a pilot in 2017 and has since become a sought-after practice resource for teachers, students and parents alike. Since the website has proven itself content-wise, it was decided to extend it with a user application. It is available to everyone for free. It lets users connect with each other: parents can follow how their children practice on the portal and measure their results against other children. Teachers can create classes and assign them tasks from the database of available exercises, and the exercises are graded automatically.

Development took several months. As always, the polished visual design is the work of our colleagues at Red Peppers. The templates were coded using the Bootstrap framework, which has long proven itself to us as a foundation for developing new applications. Its broad user base and large community guarantee long-term support and further development. The application itself is a single-page application written in React. On the backend it uses our favorite PHP and Symfony, and we chose GraphQL for communication with the frontend. You can find more information in our case study of the Škola s nadhledem project.
