Realiťák roku
A nationwide contest for real estate agents in which the public votes and points are also earned for deals, references and the jury's assessment. We took over development in 2019, moved the project straight onto a new platform and have been developing and running it with every edition since.

A contest that runs all year
The public votes, agents document their deals and the ranking is recalculated every night.
Realiťák roku looks for the best real estate agents in the Czech Republic. Visitors find agents on a map by region and district, look through their deals, references and client reviews, and can give them a vote. Points are added up for votes, documented deals, certificates, reviews and the jury's assessment, and the ranking is shown for the whole country, each region and each district.
We took over development in 2019 and moved the project straight onto a new platform, including the data from the old website. Today a single codebase runs two contests on two domains – besides the agents' contest there is Realitka roku for real estate agencies – with three back offices: for the contest administrators, for agents and for agencies.

From an iDNES profile to the ranking
Agents don't have to be added to the contest by hand. Every week they arrive from Reality.iDNES.cz, the system matches them with those it already knows and recalculates points and rankings overnight. Reality.iDNES.cz then gets back a list of the year's entrants, with voting links.
Seven areas the contest is built on
From public voting through imports and scoring to back offices for agents.

Verified voting
Each e-mail address has one vote per edition, and it only counts once confirmed via a link in the e-mail. Voting is also protected by an invisible anti-bot check.

Import from Reality.iDNES.cz
Agents and agencies arrive from Reality.iDNES.cz every week. Matching records are paired, duplicates merged and disputed cases are decided by an admin in a conflict queue.

Points and rankings
Points for votes, deals, references, certificates, reviews and the jury are capped so that no single category dominates. Rankings are calculated for the country, region and district.

Self-service for agents
In their own back office, agents record deals with the land registry case number and office, references, certificates and their insurance. Agencies have a back office of their own.

Verified agents
Since the 2024 edition, a ranking is shown only for agents who have passed a test and hold valid insurance. The others stay in the listing, but greyed out.

Choosing on a map
A map of Czechia and its 14 regions with district boundaries. Visitors click a region, narrow the choice down to a district and see the best agents near them.

Realiťák roku and the agency contest Realitka roku run from one codebase on two domains – each with its own pages, login and results.
How the project runs today
Monitored, even at night
The contest runs on our infrastructure. The weekly import, the nightly recalculation and the creation of a new edition are scheduled jobs, and monitoring tells us if one of them does not run.
New rules every edition
We develop the project in yearly rounds based on the organiser's brief: additions include verifying agents by test and insurance, data exports, agent turnover and a new homepage for Realitka roku.
